SURGERY NAME: LIPOSUCTION (FAT REMOVAL OPERATION)

It is an operation to remove excess fat stored in a certain part of the body and give the body a more proportional shape. Fat is removed by vacuum using thin cannulas. This procedure is performed by making only 3-4 mm incisions in the skin. After puberty, the number of fat cells in the body does not change. When a person gains weight, where more fat is stored depends on the number of fat cells in that area. For example, if a woman has one million fat cells in her hips and this number is reduced to three hundred thousand with surgery, no matter how much weight she gains in the future, the hip contour will not deteriorate, it will never return to its preoperative appearance. When it gains weight, it gains weight in proportion to its body.

RECOVERY PROCESS

• The patient is prevented from experiencing pain with intravenous painkillers after the operation and oral painkillers after discharge.
• Patient is discharged the next day
• If the patient’s occupation is a desk job, the patient can return to work in 6-7 days.
• The patient must wear a corset for at least 1 month. 3. can do heavy muscle-based work per week. It takes about 3-4 months for the body to take its final shape after surgery.
• The most important postoperative complaints of patients are pain, swelling and bruising. It may take 2-3 weeks for this edema and bruises to disappear.
• Sometimes these complaints can last for quite a long time. Since this mechanical trauma caused by the cannulas affects the surrounding tissue as well as the fat tissue (nerves, blood vessels, connective tissue), such complaints are unfortunately an inevitable result of liposuction. Since nerves and vessels are not damaged in ultrasonographic liposuction, recovery will be faster.
• -Incision scars are difficult to recognize.

SITUATIONS TO WATCH OUT FOR

Medicines that should not be used:

• Painkillers such as Apranax, Voltaren, Vermidon
• Minoset, Novalgin can be used when painkillers are needed.
• Multivitamin pills containing substances such as Ginseng, Ginko Biloba, CO-enzyme Q,
• Consumption of herbal products such as green tea, flax seeds, cherry stalks, tomato seeds and all weight loss products should be stopped 7 days in advance.
• It is not recommended for people with diabetes, serious heart or lung problems and circulatory problems. It is also not recommended for people who have recently had another surgery in the area where liposuction will be performed.

Situations that may be encountered :

• Embolism: It is also known as a clot. It is one of the most troublesome complications. Embolism is prevented by early mobilization, varicose vein stockings, pneumatic application and cleaxan.
• Shape discoloration: Fluctuation, darkening, asymmetry may occur in the treated areas. It may depend on the quality of the surgery performed, as well as the anatomical structure of the patient’s body, the rate of fat breakdown in different regions, and excess activity in melanin cells that give color to the skin.
• Seroma : Serum water accumulates in the cavities formed in the body after liposuction in the patient. Using a corset, dead spaces in the body are closed. Serum accumulation is prevented.
