SURGERY NAME: POST-BARIATRIC SURGERY, AESTHETIC OPERATIONS AFTER EXCESSIVE WEIGHT LOSS. AESTHETIC PROCEDURES AFTER GASTRIC SLEEVE

It is the general name of a series of surgeries aimed at correcting these deformities that occur after excessive weight loss. Patients who have had weight loss surgeries, who have reached their target weight with diet programs and have remained stable at this weight for at least 3 months or who have a 3 kg fluctuation within 6 months can undergo post-bariatric surgery.

OPERATION TECHNIQUES:

ARM LIFTING: Excess skin and subcutaneous fatty tissue in the area above the elbow are removed after liposuction. A scar is formed from the armpit to the elbow and its length varies according to each body. The scar is not visible from the front and back. It stays on the inside of the arm.

BACK STRETCH: In women, excess tissue is removed from the back to remain in the bra, this procedure is performed in combination with breast lift and arm lift procedures.

BREAST LIFT Pseudogynecomastia surgery is performed in men according to the degree of sagging and the amount of fat underneath. Depending on the excess tissue, breast tissue can be removed by liposuction and pull-through method with 5 mm incisions only under the nipple or excess tissue is removed by making an incision in the inframammary groove. In women, mastopexy with or without prosthesis, that is, breast lift procedure is applied. The excess of scars varies according to each patient.

TUMMY TUCK ABDOMINOPLASTY: In addition to classical tummy tucks, circumferential (side of the abdomen, above the buttocks), vertical (vertical), reverse (moving the upper abdomen upwards with an incision under the breast) tummy tuck procedures are performed. During all these stretching procedures, liposuction can be performed on the upper abdomen and waist area if necessary.

THIGH STRETCH : Thigh sagging can occur in the entire upper leg (i.e. inner thigh, anterior thigh, hip area, lateral and posterior thigh) or only in one of them. The appropriate procedure is selected according to the amount of sagging and the patient’s skin quality. It usually consists of a vertical line on the inner side of the leg and a transverse line under the underwear.

NECK FACELIFT: Fat injections to the face can be used in young patients and facelift methods can be used in middle-aged and older patients. In the area under the chin, the most appropriate method is neck lift.

SITUATIONS TO WATCH OUT FOR

  • Not all of these operations can be performed at once. It would be more convenient to do it in two or three times. Secondary surgeries may be needed because skin quality and elasticity are worse than in normal people. During the second part surgeries, the corrections of the operations performed in the first time are made.
  • Stretch marks are reduced but not completely eliminated.
  • Ameliyat sonrası enerji bazlı cihazlarla deri kalitesini artırılması önerilir.
  • Bariatric surgeries are very serious surgical procedures and unlike many plastic surgeries, they are both long-lasting surgeries and the patient may need to stay in the hospital for a long time. Wound dehiscence and healing problems occur more frequently in these operations. Deformation is more difficult to remove.
