OPERATION TECHNIQUES:

The biggest reason for the formation of a prominent ear in the patient is that the fold called antihelix in the middle part of the ear is not formed. However, the shape of the ear may be distorted due to excessive growth of the cartilage (concha) that makes the hole in the middle of the ear. While the ear is shaped only with sutures in small openings, it is necessary to remove excess cartilage in the ear in cases where the earlobe opens outward, the concha is excessively large and stretches the ear. The important thing is to shape it without putting tension on the ear. The ear fold, which we call antihelix in the ear, is shaped with stitches placed behind the ear. On the first day there is pain in the ear. This pain is the pain that occurs as the ear begins to reshape. Minimizes within 48 hours. It is recommended to perform the operation at the age of 5-6 years. Most of the ear development is completed at this age.

RECOVERY PROCESS

• After 2 days you can take a bath.

• Returning to daily activities and self-support can be done on the same day

SITUATIONS TO WATCH OUT FOR

• Since the scars are behind the ear, they are very difficult to recognize.
• Blood thinners should be stopped 1 week before the operation.
• Ears are made according to the shape of the head. Since each patient has an asymmetrical head structure, there will be a minimal asymmetry in the ears. This asymmetry will not be noticed unless you look carefully from the opposite side. If the patient wants both ears to be equalized, one ear can remain attached to the head. The operation will be shaped according to the patient’s request.
